Patterns of Peer Tutoring in Nursing.

A peer tutoring program at an Appalachian university was designed to meet the needs of students with poor academic backgrounds and multiple risk factors. Tutoring patterns included dyad, small group, large group, skill based, assignment based, and question based. Qualitative evaluation data revealed that each pattern required different tutor skills and all contributed to improved performance. (Contains 16 references.) (Author/SK)
