"Our Fine School": Facing Issues of Bigotry.
Orozco, Patricia Martinez
Talking Points, v14 n2 p20-22 Apr-May 2003
Describes the continual challenges a Latino principal encounters trying to face issues of bigotry. Notes that colleagues understood the needs of the children in the school, but not the needs of the principal as an administrator of color who advocates for all children. Contends that resistance to serving bilingual students involves both personal and emotional elements that are inextricably linked with racist attitudes and behaviors. (PM)
