Impacts of the Co-nect School Reform Design on Classroom Instruction, School Climate, and Student Achievement in Inner-City Schools.
Ross, Steven M.; Lowther, Deborah L.
Journal of Education for Students Placed at Risk, v8 n2 p215-46 2003
Evaluated the Co-nect school reform design in inner city schools relative to matched comparison schools. Schools were categorized as lower- or middle-socioeconomic status (SES). Co-nect schools demonstrated more positive outcomes on school climate, teacher commitment and satisfaction, teacher use of learner-centered strategies, and student technology use. These effects were most evident in schools serving lower-SES students. Results on state standardized achievement tests were mixed. (Contains references.) (SM)
