Performance and Perceptions of Workload among Young and Older Adults: Effects of Practice during Cognitively Demanding Tasks.

Younger (n=13) and older (n=18) adults received training in working-memory tasks. Training on the Paced Auditory Serial Addition Task did not influence overall workload ratings. Training on attention-switching and response-inhibition tasks resulted in age-related differences in ratings. Effect of training on workload ratings was age and task dependent.
