The Dilemma of Philosophy of Education: "Relevance" or Critique? Part Two.
Burbules, Nicholas C.
Educational Theory, v52 n3 p349-57 Sum 2002
Comments on several responses to Arcilla's article, "Why Aren't Philosophers and Educators Speaking to One Another?" asserting that Arcilla is correct and that there must be conversation between philosophy and education. The article recommends situated philosophy and concludes that demonstrating the viability of philosophy of education as a field, and the ability to reinvigorate the conversation between philosophy and education, will be a matter of showing more than saying.
