Clinical Decision Making among Fourth-Year Nursing Students: An Interpretive Study.
White, Ann H.
Journal of Nursing Education, v42 n3 p113-20 Mar 2003
Interviews with 17 fourth-year nursing students identified essential components in the process of learning clinical decision making: gaining confidence, building relationships with staff, connecting with patients, being comfortable with nurse identity, and understanding the clinical picture. Results indicate that, without the big picture, clinical decision making is limited. (Contains 27 references.) (SK)
