Reviews school violence prevention programs published between 1990-99, using studies of school-based programs that involved a control group and that implemented an experimental design. Results suggest that program impact could be significantly affected by the use of cognitive-behavioral strategies, multi-setting atmosphere, and primary prevention. Intuitive support indicates that a qualified program leader and longer program length could also contribute to program influence. (Contains references.) (SM)
