Examined preservice teachers' perceived confidence for teaching violence prevention, noting the effect of violence prevention training on their confidence for teaching the subject. Surveys of over 800 graduate and undergraduate students indicated that violence prevention training, area of certification, and location of student teaching placement significantly influenced student teachers' perceived confidence to teach violence prevention.
