Religiosity and Drug Use among Inmates in Boot Camp: Testing a Theoretical Model with Reciprocal Relationships.
Benda, Brent B.; Toombs, Nancy J.
Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, v35 n3-4 p161-83 2002
Examines the effects of religiosity within a theoretical model with reciprocal relationships of drug use among boot camp inmates. Findings show that attachment to caregivers is inversely related to associations with peers who engage in illicit behavior, whereas being abused by an adult is positively related to these associations. These associations have inverse reciprocal relationship with religiosity and secular beliefs. (Contains 81 references and 3 tables.) (GCP)
