Services for Maltreated Children: Variations by Maltreatment Characteristics.
Kinard, E. Milling
Child Welfare, v81 n4 p617-45 Jul-Aug 2002
Used data from longitudinal study of consequences of child maltreatment to explore relationships between service referrals and children's behavioral and academic functioning. Found that mental health services were the most frequently recommended service for maltreated children. More than 25 percent of children with serious behavioral problems did not receive such referrals. Children with long maltreatment histories were more likely to be referred for some services.
