Hmong Immigrants' Views on the Education of Their Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
Wathum-Ocama, John C.; Rose, Susan
American Annals of the Deaf, v147 n3 p44-53 Jul 2002
This study investigated the attitudes of seven Hmong parents of hearing impaired children attending an American public school. Most parents reported limited knowledge of the policies, practices, and organizational structures of special education, and all cited communication barriers as impediments to involvement in their child's education. However, most parents expressed strong satisfaction with their child's educational program. (Contains references.) (Author/DB)
