The focus of this article is to assess counseling student computer competency level as an effect of a one-credit hour introductory course in computer technology. Results indicate student computer competencies increased after completing the computer technology course in the following areas: ethics, assisting clients with internet searches, statistical packages, listserv knowledge, CD-Rom, presentation software, and evaluating information from the internet.
