Going Greek: The Effects of Racial Composition on White Students' Participation Patterns.
Chang, Mitchell J.; DeAngelo, Linda
Journal of College Student Development, v43 n6 p809-23 Nov-Dec 2002
Examines whether different levels of undergraduate racial compositions affect White student participation in social fraternities and sororities. Findings show that White students who attended nearly all-White campuses were significantly more likely to join a Greek social organization. Also notes that the role of Greek systems on the racial dynamics of college campuses is more complicated that what critics often charge. (Contains 53 references and 3 tables.) (GCP)
