Reflections on Caring Narratives: Enhancing Patterns of Knowing.

Content analysis of 68 caring narratives of nursing graduate students examined context, processes, and fulfillment. Themes were identified: (1) nurses need to care for themselves in order to care for others; (2) emotional attachment has dangers; (3) caring is a moral responsibility; (4) reflections on care teach about caring; and (5) reflection engages one in defining caring.
