Surveyed and interviewed Norwegian graduate students to determine if being attached to a professor's research project improves the effectiveness of the learning experience--for example, contact with supervisors and other students, and time to degree. Found a positive effect across all field of study, although differences in project organization may be needed by field (i.e., humanities versus natural sciences). (EV)
