"Out" at Work: The Relation of Actor and Partner Workplace Policy and Internalized Homophobia to Disclosure Status.
Rostosky, Sharon S.; Riggle, Ellen D. B.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v49 n4 p411-19 Oct 2002
Examines the predictors of individuals' workplace sexual orientation disclosure status in 118 couples. Findings indicated that, at the individual level, having a workplace nondiscrimination policy and less internalized homophobia were positively associated with the extent to which an individual was out at work. The implications for counseling and for wider interventions at the policy level are discussed. (Contains 57 references and 4 tables.) (GCP)
