Investigates the prevalence, nature and correlates of early heterosexual intercourse, and the extent and correlates of condom use of a sample of 14-year-olds in Scotland. The most important correlate of sexual experience was low level of parental monitoring; the key predictor for condom use was whether or not the respondent talked to their partner about protection before having sexual intercourse.
