A survey of 92 high-achieving girls aged 15-17 found their education and career plans were influenced by anticipated roles as mothers and perceived social pressures for full-time motherhood. Despite strong intentions for further education and careers, the perceived acceptability of combining work and parenthood influenced the certainty of their plans. (Contains 44 references.) (SK)
