Through Different Eyes: The Ability of General Education Administrators To Serve At-Risk Students.
Wilcox, Daryl; Wigle, Stanley E.
Journal of At-Risk Issues, v7 n3 p39-47 Fall 2001
Investigated the competencies that principals perceived they had to manage special education programs, comparing their self-perceptions with estimates of those administrators' competencies made by special education directors. Survey data indicated that principals had little formal academic training in this area and tended to consistently and highly overestimate their competencies in the area of special education. (SM)
