Maney, Dolores W.; Mortensen, Sharon; Powell, M. Paige; Lozinska-Lee, Monika; Kennedy, Susan; Moore, Betty
American Journal of Health Behavior, v33 n4 p225-33 Jul-Aug 2002
Explored relationships between college students' alcohol use, participation in late-night alcohol-free entertainment options, perceived drinking norms, social identity, and perception of university policy. Surveys indicated that students who considered the LateNight program a way to have fun without alcohol were less likely to binge drink than those who did not. LateNight participants were significantly less likely to drink heavily, binge drink, and party heavily than nonparticipants. (SM)
