Smith, J. Carson; O'Connor, Patrick J.; Crabbe, James B.; Dishman, Rod K.
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, v34 n7 p1158-1167 Jul 2002
Examined whether anxiety-reducing conditions of low- and moderate-intensity cycling exercise would lead to changes in emotional responsiveness to pictures designed to elicit pleasant neutral, and unpleasant emotions among healthy female college students. Results indicated that cycling exercise resulted in decreased baseline activity of facial muscles involved in the expression of emotion but did not alter emotional responsiveness. (SM)
