Preservice Teachers Are Making a Difference by Mentoring Middle School Students.

Describes a mentoring program for at-risk middle school students at a professional development school using preservice middle school teachers enrolled in methods classes. Describes mentor training, and lists suggested activities for mentors and phases of mentoring. Notes that two-thirds of students with mentors improved their grades and that mentoring was a positive experience for the preservice teachers. (KB)
