Examined status of specific middle grades credentials for teachers and administrators in 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Found that 86 percent of states had specific middle level credential; 41 percent required the credential for teaching at middle level. Found seven different grade patterns associated with middle level certificates/endorsements. Only seven states had middle level administrator credentials. (KB)
