Presents five parables that have arisen from the author's experience in studying 20th-century public commemorative art in the United States and more particularly from a growing concern she has had with how to deal with issues of how the body figures into that project. Summarizes five questions raised for rhetorical criticism in relation to the five parables. (SG)
