Rhamie, Jasmine; Hallam, Susan
Race, Ethnicity and Education, v5 n2 p151-70 Jul 2002
Interviewed African-Caribbean professionals ages 23-40 years, who had been educated in the United Kingdom, regarding factors contributing to their academic success. Two models of success included continuous positive interaction between the home and school that fostered academic excellence and a model where family and community came together to create a sense of belonging and acceptance and foster achievement.
