School Choice Accountability: An Examination of Informed Consumers in Different Choice Programs.
Van Dunk, Emily; Dickman, Anneliese
Urban Affairs Review, v37 n6 p844-56 Jul 2002
Examined parent survey data on several types of choice programs in a large urban school district, investigating the amount of information parents had and whether they selected schools based on factors they considered important. Results suggested that many parents neither possessed adequate information nor sent consistent signals. There were systemic differences across types of choice programs. (SM)
