The Role of Community in Meeting the Needs of African-American HIV Affected Families.
Journal of HIV/AIDS & Social Services, v1 n1 p41-58 2002
Assessed the service needs of HIV-affected families in an inner city African American community with a high HIV/AIDS seroprevalence. Data from focus group interviews indicated a lack of family-sensitive HIV/AIDS community services. Participants noted the problem with stigma and identified community awareness and education as critical to serving affected families. (SM)
