Examined the impact of student teaching assessment on teaching and the synchrony between assessment and performance in passing from practice teaching to teaching, noting the perspectives of five outstanding student teachers. Data from portfolios, evaluation forms, feedback sessions, interviews, and written stories highlighted how students teachers could make use of their assessment to mediate understandings in real-life teaching contexts.
