The Role of Personality, Parents and Peers in Adolescents Career Exploration.
Kracke, Baerbel
Journal of Adolescence, v25 n1 p19-30 Feb 2002
Examines the role of individual characteristics, parental behaviors and peers for occupational exploration in a sample of 192 German ninth graders. Results showed that individual characteristics reflecting an active approach to developmental demands were correlated with more intense occupational exploration. Child-centered parental behaviors and frequent talks with peers about career-related issues were also correlated positively with information-seeking behaviors. (Contains 38 references and tables.)
