Data on alumni donations and institutional characteristics for 415 colleges/universities were analyzed using ordinary least squares. Results indicate that the following factors affect the flow of alumni donations: institution's academic reputation, scholastic aptitude of enrolled student body, faculty-student ratio, and vocational choices of graduates.
