Conducted a 3-year study of seven pretenure professors of teacher education directly and indirectly involved in the reform of teacher education in Canada to understand their roles, commitments, and the influences that facilitate and constrain their efforts to do things differently. Findings provide an overview of the types of reform characterizing teacher educators' work and highlight the intersection between commitment to reform and institutional realities. (SLD)
