Perfectionism in Mathematically Gifted and Typical Czech Students.
Parker, Wayne D.; Portesova, Sarka; Stumpf, Heinrich
Journal for the Education of the Gifted, v25 n2 p138-52 Win 2001
The Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS) was administered to 219 Czech adolescents, 132 of whom were mathematically gifted. Two distinct orthogonal constructs of perfectionism were identified, indicating that healthy and unhealthy perfectionism are not opposite poles on a single continuum but are independent constructs. Perfectionism was more problematic among the typical students. (Contains references.) (Author/CR)
