The Professionalization of Victim Assistance: Implications for the Field of Victim Assistance and Adult Education.
Underwood, Thomas
Journal of Continuing Higher Education, v50 n2 p38-49 Spr 2002
Responses from 179 prosecutor-based and domestic violence victim assistance programs indicated that 67% of practitioners had college degrees, 68% belonged to professional associations, and more than one-third participated substantially in continuing education. Type of organization, gender, and age were not related to professional attitudes; continuing education participation was the only significant influence on attitudes. (Contains 31 references.) (SK)
