Tested the effectiveness of the BIG Accommodation Model with at-risk, low-achieving secondary students. The project began in a highly problematic California middle school and achieved record gains for all ethnic and linguistic groups and students at all levels of language arts and mathematics. The project established a professional development model that allowed for replication in other middle schools. (SM)
