Explores attitudes of Israeli students in grades 4 through 11 toward immigrants from the former Soviet Union with a theoretical framework of sociology of ethnicity education. Positive attitudes were found toward immigrants the first year with fewer positive attitudes found the second year. Findings point to Israeli assimilatory educational practices; immigrants are expected to blend in and abandon their past heritage. (JDM)
