Describes Singapore's Thinking Schools, Learning Nation initiative, designed to foster thinking skills and equip students with the abilities and knowledge necessary to meet the challenges of the new millennium. The initiative includes such features as learner-centered schools, enhanced curriculum, information technology networks, additional criteria in the admissions requirements of local universities, and preservice and inservice teacher development.
