Accessed and assessed the beliefs and knowledge of graduate preservice students in secondary education. Data came from multiple sources (student work, student thinking, interviews, debriefing sessions, teaching metaphors, writing samples, and concept maps), Case studies of two students revealed differences in the nature and strength of teacher beliefs and variations in programmatic impact on those beliefs.
