Three Randomized Experiments on the Longitudinal Effects of the Transcendental Meditation Technique on Cognition.
So, Kam-Tim; Orme-Johnson, David W.
Intelligence, v29 n5 p419-40 2001
Three studies of 362 high school students in 3 schools in Taiwan tested the hypothesis that regular practice of transcendental meditation (TM) for 6 to 12 months would improve cognitive ability. TM practice produced significant effects on all seven variables studies, and the TM technique was superior to contemplative meditation for five of the seven variables. Napping for equivalent periods of time had no effect on cognitive ability. (SLD)
