Examines a personal experience that unintentionally subverted the hierarchical teacher-student relationship, analyzing the experience through the metaphor of teaching as persuasion and discussing the disruption of the traditional hierarchy that occurred and subsequent interdependency of the teacher and student when they became enmeshed in a situation that positioned the teacher as learner and student as knowledgeable other.
