Self-Determination and Inclusion: Are Students with Mild Mental Retardation More Self-Determined in Regular Classrooms?
Zhang, Dalun
Education and Training in Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, v36 n4 p357-62 Dec 2001
A study investigated whether 44 students (ages 11-19) with mild mental retardation demonstrated more self-determination behaviors in regular classrooms than in resource classrooms. Results indicate that these students demonstrated more self-determination behaviors in resource classrooms. Implications for self-determination instruction and suggestions for future studies are discussed. (Contains references.) (Author/CR)
