Evaluated the impact of new induction procedures on secondary beginning teachers. Surveys of and interviews with British beginning teachers indicated that targeted funding had substantially impacted beginning teachers in terms of dedicated time, supportive paperwork, and related school systems. There was little evidence of staged progressive induction training or induction processes that produced challenge and deeper reflection on professional practice. (SM)
