Moral Cognition: Explaining the Gender Difference in Antisocial Behavior.
Barriga, Alvaro Q.; Morrison, Elizabeth M.; Liau, Albert K.; Gibbs, John C.
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v47 n4 p532-62 Oct 2001
Examined whether gender discrepancy in late adolescents' antisocial behavior may be attributed to gender differences in other moral cognitive variables. Found that mature moral judgment and higher moral self-relevance were associated with lower self-serving cognitive distortion, partially mediating the relationship between those variables and antisocial behavior. Relationships among moral cognitive variables and antisocial behavior did not vary by gender. (Author/KB)
