Boudreau, Donna M.; Chapman, Robin S.
Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, v43 n5 p1146-59 Oct 2000
This study examined the relationship between event representation and linguistic expression in narratives of 31 children and adolescents with Down syndrome (DS) and controls matched for either mental age, syntax comprehension, or expressive language. Use of linguistic devices and cohesion were poorer in DS subjects than MA- matched controls with no differences in comparison to children matched for expressive language. (Contains references.)
