The Mother-Daughter Relationship as a Resource for Korean Women's Career Aspirations.
Song, Hyunjoo
Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, v44 n1-2 p79-97 Jan 2001
Examined Korean women's career aspirations, noting interrelationships between external factors (school and peer experiences) and internal factors (maternal influences in the mother-daughter relationship) in the development of self-perception and the significance of sex role behaviors. Surveys of college students indicated that nontraditional sex role attitudes and close, continuous, and satisfactory mother-daughter relationships directly determined career orientation.
