Principal and Teacher Reports of Strategies To Enforce Anti-Tobacco Policies in Florida Middle and High Schools.
Tubman, Jonathan G.; Vento, Rita Soza
Journal of School Health, v71 n6 p229-35 Aug 2001
Surveyed Florida middle and high school principals to determine their anti-tobacco policies and enforcement strategies. All schools had formal policies, but middle schools implemented them more rigorously. Various enforcement strategies were employed formally and informally. Punitive strategies were more common than nonpunitive strategies. Enforcement strategies significantly related to several features of school settings (e.g., teacher training opportunities). (SM)
