Learning Experientially through Case Studies? A Conceptual Analysis.
Kreber, Carolin
Teaching in Higher Education, v6 n2 p217-28 Apr 2001
Discusses why experiential learning is often implemented incompletely in higher education and asserts that the case study approach is an effective way to involve students in all four phases of Kolb's experiential learning cycle. Drawing on previous studies, proposes that experiential learning fosters higher-level learning, such as critical thinking ability and self-direction. Concludes with suggestions for research. (EV)
