Leading Cultures: A Study of "Acting in Context" and the Creation of Meaning in School Leaders' Work Activities.
Hultman, Glenn
International Journal of Leadership in Education, v4 n2 p137-48 Apr-Jun 2001
"Leading cultures" has a double meaning denoting a split between school leaders' behavior when leading and the leadership function of different subcultures. This paper explores this split; discusses transactions, encounters, and administrators' tacit knowledge when executing leadership; and illustrates school leadership's reciprocity and relatedness, using Swedish school data.
