Gives an overview of the differences between part-time and tenured/tenure-track faculty members, with particular attention to how these differences may impact students' perceptions of instructors' accessibility. Introduces the construct of extra-class communication (EEC) and explores how faculty employment status of instructors may affect students' ECC decisions. Concludes that students are generally unaware of the employment status of their instructors. (SG)
