Small-Town Bullying and Student-on-Student Aggression: An Initial Investigation of Risk.
Simanton, Ed; Burthwick, Pauline; Hoover, John
Journal of At-Risk Issues, v6 n2 p4-10 Win-Spr 2000
Students from small towns completed surveys on school safety, bullying, drug use, and other school climate issues. About 56 percent reported neither bullying nor victimization. Bully/victim status varied with age and gender and significantly related to risk factors like smoking and drinking. Bullies were more likely to use drugs and tobacco, belong to gangs, and bring guns to school. (SM)
