Anthropology and International Business Research Methods in DBA Teaching: Frameworks for Cultural Awareness.
Whiteley, Alma
Journal of Teaching in International Business, v12 n2 p7-22 2001
Discusses the rationale for introducing anthropology into a doctoral-level international business research methods course. Describes three anthropological frameworks designed for the course: a cultural awareness model adapted from G. Morgan's (1980) idea of paradigmatic orthodoxy; key organizing principles; and a mapping model allowing researchers to chart their own and subjects' cultural positions. Demonstrates the mapping model with a student case. (EV)
